Repentance is the grace work of God
Letter of Romans teaches, that law of God, in other words through the word of God, comes the knowledge of the sin. The knowledge word is in Greek epignoosis, which means knowledge, acknowledging and acknowledgement. Jesus Christ Himself said, that when He go away, so He sends the Holy Spirit, who will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
One of the tasks of the word of God and the Holy Spirit
One of the tasks of the word of God and the Holy Spirit is to speak to the heart of people in other words to the understanding, that the man is the sinner and the wages of the sin is eternal damnation, but by repentance, in other words by turning to the half of God through Jesus Christ, the man receives forgiveness of the sins and comes for the child of God. The contrition is not so any feeling condition, but understanding of the mind and information about it, that the man is the sinner and needs the grace of God.
Word of God and the Holy Spirit proves to the heart of the man, that he is the sinner and needs salvation from his sins and he also needs grace of God. The mind of the man can't bend to the half of God at all on the other way as preaching the gospel or by proving from the word of God, which the Holy Spirit proves to the heart of the man. If we preach to people doctrine of men or tradition of men or human wisdom the Holy Spirit don’t prove truth to the heart of the man. A repentance word means in the Greek language:
- to change one’s mind - to repent - to change one’s mind for better - heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins
By offering of Jesus Christ and by His blood-offering people have ability receive the salvation. The Holy Spirit affects in the heart of the man repentance and confessing of the sins through the word of God, and after that God donates salvation to people and forgiveness of the sins. Faith, which is affected by God start then little by little to change mind of the man towards the life, which is accordance with will of God.
The saving from the grace
Only the Holy Spirit can show to people, that the wages of the sins is eternal damnation and only the Holy Spirit can show through word of God to the forgiveness of the sins by atonement blood of Christ Jesus.
The saving and coming to the faith is grace of God, which is pure work of God, for by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. The grace work of God and salvation however must receive, because otherwise we can't be saved, for this reason Jesus Christ said: " Repent and believe the gospel. "
The man can't repent without, that the Holy Spirit proves by word of God to the man, that he needs to his sins atonement of Jesus. The origin of the repentance so is not from the man, but from God, the man only receives salvation from the grace of God by repentance. Without the repentance the man remains to his sins, which lead him to the damnation.
However, the man must receive the salvation, in that God don’t save anyone forcibly. The situation is little similar, than the man would be drowning, and start to sink under the surface of the water. But then there come a lifeboat, from which is thrown to him life-buoy. So that the man can be saved, he has to catch the life buoy. When he who is drowning catches the life-buoy and saves from drowning, so honour from his salving don't belong to him, but to him who gave the life-buoy. The same way also we must receive the gospel and glory from salvation goes to God, who with His great grace saves the man from the damnation.
Freedom
Slave of the sin is under the lust of the flesh, in which the man has been compelled to practise sin. But, if Jesus Christ makes you free, so you are truly free and released from the slavery of the sin. The freedom in Christ means it, that you are free from the sins and free to live in the righteousness and free to live according the will of God. We are holy in Christ, but our wandering is imperfect. However, remember, that we are on the journey towards perfection of God, even though we are defective peregrinate on the highway of faith, and we can’t live perfectly according to the will of God, because our wandering is imperfect in this time. However, it is important, that we have endeavour to grow towards perfection and that we want to grow towards it.
The Holy Spirit for obedience
God has promised in His word, that He gives the Holy Spirit for those, who obey Him. But you don’t get the Holy Spirit, because you obey God, but you get the Holy Spirit, so that you could obey Him. This is important understand, because some believers try to obey God by them flesh and they think that they earn something from God by their own power and they don’t recognize it.
This obedience, which the Holy Spirit affects in the hearts of the believer, is so important, that I write it again in here. God gives to the man the Holy Spirit, who has not ability to obey God. God gives to the man the Holy Spirit, who has not ability to live according the will of God. Spirit of God is indeed Spirit of obedience, every bring and affect obedience in the hearts of the disciples of the Christ Jesus. God is He who affects will and work through the Holy Spirit and through the word of God in your heart, that His good will can take place in your life.
Salvation and sanctification life is the grace of God
The man is saved from the grace of God, not by our own deeds, that nobody would brag and boast.
When the man is saved, so after it begins sanctification life, in which the Lord affects in the heart of believers righteous life through His word and the Holy Spirit. Like this work of faith don’t come from the man, but from the God. But also like this faith is not dead faith, but living in faith from the grace of God!
Believers so must give themselves under the work of God, in which the Holy Spirit affects will and work in the hearts of believers, so that good will of God can take place in the life of believers.
Salvation and sanctification life is so work of God and the part of the man remains to receive work of God and live through this effect.
2 Cor 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
