Jesus was born of a virgin to be the Saviour of the world
 

God's Word calls every person who believes in the God of the Bible to bless Israel. The most important teaching of the Bible is salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, because of the blood of Jesus and the merit of His atoning work. It is also very important to bless Israel and to pray for peace for Israel and Jerusalem. The Bible teaches that the essence of blessing Israel is to pray and hope for salvation to the Jews (Israelites) through faith in Messiah Yeshua the Messiah. Blessing Israel does not mean participation and acceptance of the sins of the Israelites (Jews). The Jews, also, in loving meekness must be told the truth about the sins that prevent them from being saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Messiah. Study and test my writing with the truth of God's word through prayer.

Jewish rabbinism and theology breeds pride and thus rebellion against God at the point where they have not turned to faith in the Lord Jesus. Jewish rabbinism and theology of course teaches things right about what the OT teaches, but at the same time distorts the most important thing of all, the Messiah Jesus. I will take just one example of this. There are others, but this one will suffice for now.

Isa 7:14 ל:כן יתן אדני הוא לכם אות הנה ה:עלמה הרה ו:ילדת בן ו:קראת שמו עמנו אל

Isa 7:14  δια τουτο δωσει κυριος αυτος υμιν σημειον ιδου η παρθενος (parthenos) εν γαστρι εξει και τεξεται υιον και καλεσεις το ονομα αυτου εμμανουηλ Septuagint

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin (עלמה almah, virgin, maiden) shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (עמנואל‎).

I take for example, some of the conversations (on the Internet and elsewhere) with Jewish rabbis. When it has come up that Isa 7:14 teaches about the birth of the Son, who is God with us (Immanuel), who is born of a virgin, many Jewish rabbis have told me that the Hebrew word almah in Isa 7:14 does not mean a virgin, but a young maiden.

To prove this they point out from dictionaries how the dictionaries say it means a young maiden not a virgin and that Jewish rabbis and scholars know the correct meaning of the word.

However, the truth and fact is that the word almah means a young virgin. The Jews translated the Septuagint OT from Hebrew into Greek, which was translated about 300-200 years before the birth of Jesus. Isa 7:14 is the Septuagint word parthenos, which means virgin.

At the time when they knew nothing about Jesus, they believed the word almah meant virgin, but after the birth of Jesus, they have changed the original meaning of the word to another meaning, that they should hold on to the lie and not have to repent. They do this because they are proud at this point because they don't want to believe that Jesus is the Messiah.

Gen 24:16 η δε ̀ παρθενος̀ (parthenos) ην καλη τη οψει σφοδρα ̀ παρθενος̀ (parthenos) ην ανηρ ουκ εγνω αυτην καταβασα δε επι την πηγην επλησεν την υδριαν και ανεβη

Gen 24:
15 And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
16 And the damsel (na'arah) was very fair to look upon, a virgin (betulah - בְּתוּלָ֕ה), neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

Genesis 24:15,16 The Bible says Rebekah was a virgin and the Septuagint uses the Greek word parthenos and the Hebrew word is betulah. The Greek word parthenos means virgin, a young girl who is sexually untouched.

Gen 24:43 ιδου εγω εφεστηκα επι της πηγης του υδατος και αι θυγατερες των ανθρωπων της πολεως εξελευσονται υδρευσασθαι υδωρ και εσται η παρθενος (parthenos) η αν εγω ειπω ποτισον με μικρον υδωρ εκ της υδριας σου

Gen 24:
43 Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin (Ha-Almah) - הָֽ·עַלְמָה֙) cometh forth to draw [water], and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;
44 And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: [let] the same [be] the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master’s son.
45 And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew [water]: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.

In Genesis 24:16 the Hebrew used the word betulah for Rebekah, but in Genesis 24:43 the Hebrew Bible uses the word almah for Rebekah. The Jews in their Hebrew Bible use the words betulah and almah, who was a virgin, for Rebekah at the same time. These biblical passages prove that the word almah also originally meant virgin, a young woman who is sexually pure and untouched.

The Septuagint translation was made in Alexandria, Egypt, a couple of centuries before the birth of Jesus. The Septuagint translation from Hebrew into Greek was translated by 70 Jewish Bible translators and Torah experts. There is a story among Jews that the 70 Septuagint translators translated the Septuagint themselves, each in their own circumstances, independently, and when all 70 translations were brought together, it was discovered that all the translations were identical (exactly the same). The Jews believe that when the Septuagint translators themselves, each independently translated identical translations in their own circumstances, it means that it was truly the word of God, and not man's own revelation and reasoning.

Isa 7:14 לָ֠כֵן יִתֵּ֨ן אֲדֹנָ֥·י ה֛וּא לָ·כֶ֖ם א֑וֹת הִנֵּ֣ה הָ·עַלְמָ֗ה הָרָה֙ וְ·יֹלֶ֣דֶת בֵּ֔ן וְ·קָרָ֥את שְׁמ֖·וֹ עִמָּ֥נוּ אֵֽל׃

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign (א֑וֹת oth); Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14 says at the beginning of the verse, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign". The word for sign is oth in Hebrew (א֑וֹת oth), which means mark, miracle, (en-)sign, token. It is indeed a miracle that a virgin should give birth to a child. If a married woman gives birth to a child, it is not a miracle, but a normal and natural thing. Isaiah 7:14 says that a virgin giving birth to a son is a miracle, a sign and a sign to the Jews. The son will be called God with us (Immanuel).

In Isaiah 7:14 the whole verse proves that it is a virgin, for indeed the virgin birth is a true miracle and sign. If it were a natural event and the birth of a woman who is not a virgin, then it is neither a sign nor a wonder. No one could recognize God's miracle and sign from a normal birth, but the virgin birth is a miracle and a special sign from God of the coming Messiah who is to be born into the world. Messiah, Jesus, Immanuel, God with us, for God was made man in Messiah Jesus for our sins.

You who are a disciple of the Lord Jesus, you can believe with confidence and full assurance of faith that our Lord Jesus was born of a virgin, for He is God with us. Isa 7:14 is the virgin, and our Messiah, Jesus was born of a virgin in the world about 2000 years ago in history, so that people could have forgiveness of sins and salvation to eternal life through faith in the Lord Jesus, the blood of Jesus and the atoning work of Jesus.

In the Fall, satan deceived man to distort and give a different meaning to things, ideas and words than their true meaning. The roots of pride are in the Fall of Paradise, where satan also planted the sin of pride in the heart of man, because satan is proud and does not want to repent, therefore he is condemned to eternal damnation. The same spirit of pride is at work in many ungodly people, and unfortunately also in some believers. Its hallmark is an unwillingness to repent when it is time to repent.

True, God also gives time for repentance, but when a person repents through a process that has taken time, then he or she admits to having done wrong and corrects his or her mistakes and errors.

Since no believer is perfect and we all make mistakes and also fall into sin, only the humble believer wants to repent and does repent and confesses his mistakes. The humble will accept correction, but the proud will not, for he is always "right" (read: thinks he is) and others "wrong".

Every believer is in danger of pride, that's what the Bible says:

Pro 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
