Name Yhvh in the Scriptures

Isaiah 40:1-9: Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God  (Elohim).  Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S (Yhvh) hand double for all her sins. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD (Yhvh), make straight in the desert a highway for our God (Elohim).  Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:  And the glory of the LORD  (Yhvh) shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD  (Yhvh) hath spoken it.  The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD (Yhvh)  bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God (Elohim) shall stand for ever. O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God (Elohim)!

 .

Luke 3:2-6;  Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.  And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;  As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord (Yhvh), make his paths straight.  Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Joh 1:19-23: And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?  And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.  And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.  Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?  He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

The book of Isaiah tells to one who is crying in the wilderness. That crying voice in the wilderness was John the Baptist, but who is the Lord to whom John the Baptist had to prepare the way? Scriptures tell us very clearly, that John the Baptist prepared the way to Yeshua. John himself said that he is the voice of crying in the wilderness. Also John the Baptist sent his disciples to Yeshua to ask; was Yeshua that who is coming or must them wait still another to come. Yeshua answered to disciples of John by this way: Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. John the Baptist gave also evidences that Yeshua is the LORD. When Yeshua came the wilderness to be baptised, so the Scriptures tells that this happened:

John 1:32-36; And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.  And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.  Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

John admitted that Yeshua is the Son of God, who baptize with Holy Spirit and with fire. John understood also that Yeshua is the offering lamb of God, who takes away from sins of the world. When we look at Isaiah 40:3 from the Hebrew text, it opens before us very interesting thing.

Isaiah 40:3 the word Lord is Yhvh and word God is Elohim.  John came to prepare the way to YHVH and to ELOHIM. Now we see, that the Scriptures uses also from the Yeshua names Yhvh and Elohim. Word Yhvh appears over 5000 times in Old Testament, and it means the Father but also the Son, Yeshua. Yeshua is also Yhvh according to teaching of the Scriptures. We look now at other places from the Scriptures, which proves this same thing.

There is no other Saviour than the LORD

Isaiah 43:10,11 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD (Yhvh), and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.  I, even I, am the LORD (Yhvh); and beside me there is no saviour.

In the Hebrew text verse 11 is word Yhvh.  Book of Isaiah teaches, that there is no other Saviour than the Lord (Yhvh).  In New Testament is a very interesting place, which tells also that there is only one name where is salvation.

Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

The Scriptures teach, that there is no other Saviour than the Lord (Yhvh) and there is no other name than Yeshua the Messiah (hebr. Yeshua HaMaschiach) where is salvation. Yeshua is the Lord (Yhvh) and Saviour according to teaching of the Scriptures. When the Scriptures say in the Old Testament, that there is no other Saviour than the Lord (Yhvh), so it also means that there is no other Saviour than the Lord. New Testament proofs, that there is no other name where is salvation than the name of Yeshua the Messiah. God doesnt change Old Covenant Saviour in the New Covenants, because other wise the Scriptures lies. Old Covenant and New Covenant Saviour are same. Gods word about the Saviour is the Lord (Yhvh) Yeshua Messiah.

Book of Jeremiah also proofs that Yeshua is the Lord (Yhvh).

Jermiah 23:5-6  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD (Yhvh), that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.  In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD  (Yhvh) OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

In the verse 5 and 6 is word Yhvh.  Yeshua is the Lord (Yhvh) our righteousness such as the Scriptures teach to us. In the New Testament teaches, that righteousness of God is set to Yeshua and so the Lord (Yhvh) Yeshua is our righteousness.

1 Cor 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Cor 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Evidence of the Scriptures is that the Lord (Yhvh) Yeshua is our righteousness. New Testament proofs, that God’s righteousness is Yeshua the Messiah.

 Name YHVH

Jews didnt pronounce name YHVH at all, because in the law (Torah) is written:  Exodus 20:7  Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD (Yhvh) thy God (Elohim) in vain; for the LORD (Yhvh) will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. This was as a reason why Jews never pronounced name Yhvh. And for that reason Jews have changed this word pronouncing for Adonai. Because of that the original enunciation habit have lost, and we don't know for sure vowel notes of word Yhvh. We dont know for sure is right pronouncing of Yhvh Yahweh or Yehovah. There is short word YAH in the Scriptures, which means the Lord and God. Many holds this as the proof to right enunciation of word YHVH. But only sure thing is those letters Yhvh.  I personally believe that Yhvh would pronounce Yahveh.

h w h y

Yhvh word has interesting letters yud, he, vav, he. Letter yud literal meaning is closed a hand and symbolical meanings are deed, work to make. Letter he literal meanings are a window fence and symbolical meaning is to reveal. Letter vav literal meanings are a window and nail, symbolic meanings are add, secure and hook.

Those letters give us the message: work of a hand and a nail reveals secure. That means crucifixion and shows to us that Yeshua is the Lord, who has been pierced and crucified for sins of mankind. Yeshua is the Lord (Yhvh).

The first word, which appears in the Scriptures telling about God is Elohim, which appears about 2200 times in the Scriptures. Elohim means God and Judge. Scriptures say Gen 1:1: In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heaven and the earth.  Book of Hebrews tells in chapter one and verse two, that Father and Yeshua was with together creating the heaven and the earth. So we see, that Scriptures use from the Father and Yeshua word God (Elohim). There are also other names in the Scriptures about God. Yhvh appears about 5500 times in the Scriptures. As we have examined the Scriptures uses also from the Father and Yeshua name Yhvh. El means also God and appears about 230 times in the Scriptures. El truly can mean also other as God for the example angel. El Shaddai means Almighty and appears about 48 times in the Scriptures.

New Testament proofs that Yeshua Messiah is the Lord Yhvh

Matthew and Luke have proofs that Yeshua is Yhvh, when the devil teased Yeshua in the wilderness.

Luke 4:9-12 and he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:  And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.  And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Matthew 4:5-7 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Yeshua quotes in the wilderness Deuteronomy 6:16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD (Yhvh) your God (Elohim).

When the devil teased Yeshua in the wilderness Yeshua told him; written is: You shall not tempt LORD (Yhvh) your God (Elohim). Yeshua appealed to the word of God. In Hebrew text is words YHVH and ELOHIM. In the wilderness wasnt other as Yeshua and devil. Devil teased there Yeshua and not anybody else. The target of temptation was Yeshua and answer of Yeshua indicates, that He is Yhvh and Elohim. Devil teased Yeshua, but why Yeshua told him: You shall not tempt LORD your God? Because the proofs of the Scriptures are that Yeshua is the Lord and the God.

Other Scriptures places, which prove, that name Yhvh also belongs to Yeshua

Philippians 2:9-11: Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This quotation is in the Scriptures in Isaiah 45:23.  The Scriptures teach, that all knees have to bow down before God. If all knees have to bow down before Yeshua, so who Yeshua is? Scriptures tell that only before of God, all who are in heaven and in earth and under the earth must bow down before the name of Yeshua. One day all who are in the heaven and in the earth and under the earth must confess that Yeshua the Messiah is the Lord. So only before God must bow down. The Scriptures proofs, that Yeshua is God, because before Him all knees must bow down.

Isaiah 45:22,23 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Jes 42:8 I am the LORD (YHVH): that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Scriptures teach that God doesn’t give His glory to another. Yeshua is the Lord, for whom John the Baptist prepared the way to wilderness and Yeshua is the appearance of glory of the Lord, which all flesh can see. Also every knee bows down before Yeshua, and all flesh have to confess, that Yeshua is the Lord (Yhvh).

Acts 1:20-26 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.  Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,  Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.  And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,  That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.  And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

When we study all of this text, so we notice quite an interesting point. Apostles were selecting new men in place of Judas. Peter said, that he must be one of them men, which had wandered with them all that time, when Lord Yeshua was among them. And so they prayed Lord, who knows the hearts of all people, that He indicated who He wanted select to this mission.

They were praying the Lord Yeshua. Only God knows heart of all men.

Psalms 139: 1-4 O LORD (Yhvh), thou hast searched me, and known me.  Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.  Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.  For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD (Yhvh), thou knowest it altogether.

John 2:24,25  But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,  And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

Apt 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Peter preached that God has made Yeshua for the Lord (Yhwh) and the Messiah (HaMashiach). Peter preached also, that in the name of Yeshua, there are  forgiveness of sins. None other can’t forgive sins only God can, so Yeshua is the Lord (Yhvh).

Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD (Yhvh); and beside me there is no saviour.

There is no other Saviour than the Lord (Yhvh) Yeshua.

Revelation 7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Salvation comes from God and from offering Lamb Yeshua the Messiah.

Acts 18:25  This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

Yeshua is the truth and the way and the life.  To Apollos had taught the way of the Lord Yeshua, in this verse is the Lord (Yhvh) Yeshua is that way. Isaiah wrote: Prepare ye the way of the LORD (Yhvh), make straight in the desert a highway for our God (Elohim).  John prepared way to the Lord Yeshua.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Romans 10:9-13  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scriptures saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

This  is quotation from Joel 2:32: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD (Yhvh) shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD(Yhvh)  hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD (Yhvh) shall call.

If you believe in your heart, that Yeshua is risen up from the death as a winner, and you confess in your mouth, that Yeshua is the Lord, so you will be saved. By believing the Lord Yeshua, man shall be saved. Paul quotes the book of Joel conforming that who ever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Isaiah 43:11 says; I, even I, am the LORD (Yhvh); and beside me there is no saviour. According to teachings of the Scriptures, there is no other Saviour than the Lord (Yhvh) Yeshua.  Proofs of Old Testament texts and New Testament texts is very clearly, that the Lord (Yhvh) Saviour is Yeshua the Messiah.

Conclusion is, that the Scriptures uses name Yhvh both Father and Yeshua. In finally I take one evidence, which seals this fact, that Father has given to His Son Yeshua name Yhvh.

John 17:6-11: I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.  Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.  For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

Yeshua said, that He has revealed His Fathers name to the world, that name, which Father has given to Yeshua. What is that name, which is Fathers name, which Father has given to Yeshua? Was it Yeshua? No it wasnt Yeshua. Was it the Messiah? No it wasnt the Messiah. Is it the Lord Yhvh?  After all previous evidence, what we have examined, we are sure, that Father has given to Yeshua name the Lord Yhvh. Like the Scriptures says: 2 Peter 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.

Oneness of God and separation of Father and Yeshua

Genesis 1: 1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1: 26-27: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The Scriptures say, that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. After that God says: LET US make a man in OUR image, after our likeness. Both Scriptures places are in Hebrew word Elohim, which means God and a judge. Word Elohim is in Hebrew masculine and plural. God says: Let us make a man in our image, after our likeness. Now I put a question to us: Who are these US? The Scriptures have an answer to that question.

Hebrew 1: 1-3  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

The Scriptures say, that Father and Yeshua have together created the heaven and the earth and man to their image. These Let us is Father and Yeshua.  Scriptures say, that God is one and that word one is in Hebrew echad, which means united, one; alike, alone, altogether, every, few, first, once, one, only, other, some, together. God is one in Father and Yeshua and the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures make however separation between Father and Yeshua. Father isn’t Yeshua, and Yeshua isn’t Father, but Yeshua. When we understand what Scriptures say about God, then we understand that separation of Father and Yeshua. But, there is only one God who is Father, Yeshua and Holy Spirit.

Gen 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

In this are written that G_d made (in us form) a man in image of G_d and after likeness of G_d. Some Jews teach that G_d and angel are those us, but that is not true. Man was made the image of G_d, not the image of G_d and angels. These us are the Father and the Son (Yeshua the Messiah) with the Holy Spirit. Yeshua is not the Father like some Christians (not all) teach, but the Son of G_d. Hebrew word echad explains us why G_d says us and uses plural form about Him. G_d is echad, in other words G_d is one by way of joining, and where G_d allows His Son be a part from oneness of divinity. G_d of Israel is one (echad) in the Father, in the Son (Yeshua) and in the Holy Spirit. Catholic church has formulated doctrine of trinity and that doctrine teaches that Father and Son are equal in greatness and in Almightiness. However, Catholic Church doctrine is against Scriptures, because Yeshua and apostle Paul have written:

John 14: 28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

1 Cor 15:
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Yeshua didn't say that He is equal with His Father, which means that He is not equal in greatness with His Father. Scriptures say that Father has given all powers to His Son, but in the end the Son will be subject to His Father. This is a proof that the Father is alone Almighty and the Son has all powers only a certain time and after that the Son will be subject to His Father that G_d may be all in all.
