Man and Woman Husband and Wife
The status of a woman in relation to the teachings of the Bible is often distorted, and it is often man who distorts the status of a woman and tries to place a woman into submission through the teachings of the Bible, even though the Bible does not teach subjection of a woman. Sometimes it is also the woman herself who places herself into a submitted position. In order that the status of a woman in the congregation does not get distorted or gets interpreted in a narrow-minded way, I will state briefly here the relationship between man and woman in the light of the teaching of the Bible.
It is possible to have incorrect assumptions between men and women as they face each other in their congregation, as a result of a wrong understanding of Bible's teaching. In this teaching, I concentrate on the teaching of the Bible concerning relationships between man and woman. We examine here Bible teaching concerning marriage between man and woman and generally how men and women come to react to the opposite sex.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. Eph 5:22-33
The will of God is that wives are subject to their husbands in the same way as wives must be subject to the Lord Jesus.
The will of God is also that men would love their wives in the same way as Christ loves the congregation. A Wife is very safe to be subject to such a husband who agrees to love his wife in the same way as Christ loves His congregation.
So both husband and wife must treat their spouse thus, that both respect and love one another. It is the will of God concerning married life of man and wife.
God set man as head of the family, and this means serving leadership. Jesus said: "If any man desires to be first, the same shall be last of all and the servant of all". Being the head of the family does not mean dictatorship, but it is serving and loving, and we love and serve other family members; this is the will of God.
It is also the will of God that the wife is subject to her husband. A wife must love and respect her husband. Subjection does not mean subjugation, but subjection as meant by God is that man, as the head of the family, loves his wife. The wife must be in the same way subjected to her husband as she must be subjected to the Lord Jesus. If a man loves his wife in the same way as the Lord Jesus loves His congregation, then this kind of subjection is safe for his wife. This subjection does not harm the wife; on the contrary, it is for her protection and safety.
A man must really love his wife and consider the needs of his wife. As the Lord Jesus fills our needs and helps us in our lives to go forward, so too in the same way, man must function in relation to his wife.
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. Lev 19:18.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34.35.
Believing men and women must love one another, and this mutual love is a mark to both the world and to the congregation, that we are really the disciples of Jesus. All other kinds of non- biblical ways of interaction between men and women are sin. Men and women must be content with the order, which God has chosen for us in His words. Thanks to the Lord for sisters! Thanks to the Lord for the brothers! Let this thankful attitude be always in our hearts for us who love the Lord Jesus .
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 1 John 4:20
This passage refers to both sisters and brothers. All kinds of grudges, anger and bitterness towards sisters or brothers are fruits of darkness. If you do not love your sister or your brother in the Lord Jesus, so you also do not love God. Let us rejoice with our sisters and brothers in the congregation! God says to this: "Amen". There cannot be debates and quarrels in the midst of believers, because those works are fruit of darkness. The distinguishing mark in the congregation of God must be mutual love between all members .
Light humour
Next I will discuss briefly the humour that exists between
a wife and her husband. The following is not meant to offend anyone.

A woman has been created in a different way from man. My wife’s definition of a woman is as follows:
A woman is emotional and is easily led by her emotion. A woman’s behavior is governed by her emotions and senses. A woman is sensitive and needs much affection. The affection, which is in a woman, is extremely powerful and can be seen clearly in the relationship between mother and child. The woman wants to care for and tend to many matters. A woman processes many matters in her mind at a time. A woman has the ability at the same time to weave socks and prepare food and take care of children. A woman wants her man to participate in all joint matters of the family. A woman wants her man to take his place of responsibility in the family in as much as it concerns him. A woman needs her man to be a reliable man who can fulfil all the needs of his wife .
Well! Okay, all men! All men must have the desire to fill all the needs of their wives. Man must take his wife and all matters which are important to her, as seriously as his own affairs. Man must be tender to his wife, because his wife, as a woman, needs tenderness. Man must make an environment that is safe for his wife, so that she can live a safe life .
Can a wife nag? Yes she can. Is it your fault husband? Generally, the husband says that it is not his fault, but his wife’s. This is sometimes right, but too often the fault is in the husband who does not act as he should .
Your wife needs "the princess treatment ", for the Lord Jesus gives only the best to His congregation. The Princess treatment does not feed vanity, but nurtures the princess with the best of words and acts. The Princess treatment demands maturity from the husband, which he can only get in the school of the Lord Jesus. Your wife needs the Princess Treatment ", for the Lord Jesus gives from His best for you. If you want to love your wife in the same way as the Lord Jesus loves the congregation, you would also want to give your wife only the best, where there is the fruit of the love affected by the Lord Jesus .
Man has been created differently from a woman. Men are also led by their senses. The man is the hunter who enjoys adventure and speed. Man is an activity oriented. Man is not satisfied to sit in the swing chair. He wants to be going on and making something. Man yearns for affection and attention. Man will pay great attention to what is important to him .
A man needs that affection which only a wife can give to him. Wife your man is a man of activity so let him be the head of your family. Wife sometimes your man behaves as a ram, which butts its horn on others. Because of this you must love your husband and pray for him. If your husband suffers from this disease, the wisest thing to do is to practice love and patience.
Wife if you are subject to the Lord Jesus, so why not be also subject to your Prince, to your own dearest husband. Wife, your man needs this "Prince Treatment wherein lies the fragrant fruit of God's love.
