Lord’s supper There is different teaching for Lord’s Supper and its meaning. For the example, Roman catholic church teaching this matter in the next way: Finnish Roman catholic catechism
by imprimatur Guill. P. B.
Cobben: Christ has given power to his apostles to change bread and wine to be his holy body and his blood. To this power Christ has given on these words: "Do this in remembrance of me.” This power has transferred juridical ordained bishops and priest. Bishops and priests practice theirs powers in the holy mass, when they are changing bread and wine pronouncing the words of Christ: "This is my body and my blood." After changing on the altar is, in the form of the bread and wine, the body and blood of Jesus Christ, real and essentially present. Christ continues to be so long present as the forms of the bread and wine are present. - Holy mass sacrifice is the continual sacrifice of
the new union, where our Lord Jesus Christ, in the form of the bread and
wine, sacrifices himself through hands of a priest with the bloodless manner to
his heavenly Father. - Holy mass sacrifice is the same sacrifice as on the
cross delivered; only habit of the sacrifice is another. - Holy mass sacrifice is the same sacrifice which had
taken the in the tree of a cross, because in both same- - our Lord Christ- -
sacrifices and is sacrificed.
- Christ sacrificed himself in the cross with the bloody way; in the holy mass, he sacrifices with the bloodless manner, because he no longer suffered and not die. -
Holy
mass sacrifice is the elevated sacrifice, because it is; -
1. Valuable praise
sacrifice. -
2. To God most pleasant
praising sacrifice. -
3. Effective prayer
sacrifice. -
4. The most powerful
sacrifice of redemption. Orthodox church teaching about Eucharist is
following: - Bread and wine…describes Christ body and blood is
sacrificed from before of all and for receiving of all, which God donate to
us through sacrifice of Calvary.
- Eucharist is to the member of the orthodox Christian
essential holy sacrament. It means to conjunction to the Christ. In the
Eucharist will be used bread and wine, which according to doctrine of
orthodox changing for the body and blood of Christ. Lutheran church doctrine of Eucharist is the
following: - On the Eucharist we remember the crucifixion of Jesus.
On the cross of the Calvary the only Son of God, the lamb of God, shredded
his blood and die on behalf of whole world. In the sacrament of
Christ body and blood the Christ that had sacrificed on the cross, he will
donate to us himself with this sacrament. - Gift of the Eucharist, forgiveness of the sins, is
given us in those words, which to us is given in sacrament where is
pronounced: "This has been given for your sake". When we believe these words and when
we receive bread and wine, we take spiritual meal, which renew our life and
increase our love to our neighbour. Eucharist conjoins us to Christ and with
each another. Eucharist is spent together with celestial group and with all
holies. - By taking Eucharist we stay in Christ and he stays
in us. Body of Christ, the bread of the life, feeds and confirm our
spiritual life, which has started in the baptism (Mine
note! Usually means infant baptism). Blood of Christ, the
medicine of the immortality, heals us and to donate to us for a eternal life.
- Eucharist, sacrament of the altar is the holy
meal set by the Jesus. There he gives to us his body and blood to eat
and drink. -
Bread
and wine of the eucharist are the real body and blood of Christ. Although we can't understand this secret,
we can to trust Redeemers own words that have placed to the holy Bible. To
his death as the preceding night Jesus distributed his blessed bread for his
disciple and said: "this is my body." In the same way he gave also
wine, which is according to his words the blood of the union, his own blood.
To these words of Jesus we will spend Eucharist in the faithful for his
remembrance. -
Bible teaching about Lord’s Supper Teaching of Bible from the Lord’s supper is
the following in the words of Jesus: And he took bread, and gave thanks, and
brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you:
this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper,
saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22: 19,20 Lord’s Supper is remembrance meal of
Jesus from the death of cross and from his resurrection, through whose is
given the forgiveness of the sins for them, who repent and receive through
faith in theirs live in Lord Jesus Christ. Bread and wine describes
redemption work, which has happened in the Calvary, where is forgiveness of
the sins. Bread and wine did not crucified to the tree
of the cross, but there was nailed in the cross Jesus Christ and
from the flank of Jesus did not leak wine, but blood for the mark from the
forgiveness of sins. Jesus and His body isn’t bread, but bread and wine only
describes His body and blood. Because without bloodshed is not the
forgiveness of the sins, such as Bible teaches to us. New union started on the sacrifice of Jesus,
which as the evidence was the blood of Jesus and His death and resurrection.
In these Previous matters rest’s the forgiveness of the sins. Bread and wine
only described that redemption which has taken place of the Calvary, where
Jesus die and shredded His blood from before our sins. Teaching of Paul from the Lord’s Supper: For I have received of the Lord that which
also I delivered unto you,
That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when
he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which
is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner
also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of
me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew
the Lord’s death till he come. 1 Cor 11: 23-26. Death and resurrection of Jesus was already
happened, when Paul teaching from Lord’s Supper to Corinthians. This is
interesting point, because Paul teaches that Jesus himself has taught to him
meaning of Lord’s Supper. According to Paul, Lord’s Supper is for the
remembrance of Jesus, as often as disciples eat bread and drink the wine, so
they announce the death of The Lord Jesus, until when he comes back. Do you notice that Paul don’t taught,
anything about the sacrament of the forgiveness of the sins. In point of the
fact Paul not even mention words the forgiveness of your sins, because in Calvary
took place the redemption of the mankind. There are place for forgiveness of
the sins to those who repents and comes to faith in Jesus Chris. Paul knew,
that the forgiveness of the sins goes only through Calvary and Lord’s supper
is remembrance meal, where remembering and announced the death of The Lord. "Sacrament of the
altar"
Luther writes in his catechism in the
sacrament of the altar as follows: "What this kind of eating and drinking
benefit? Answer: `It became apparent from the words ` from before you is
given and shredded for the forgiveness of the sins.’ To us is given with
these words in this sacrament forgiveness of the sins, life and bliss, where
are the forgiveness of the sins, there is also life and bliss." Jesus himself said: " Drink ye all of it; For this is
my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of
sins." "this cup is the new testament in my
blood, which is shed for you." Wine, which is in the wine vase, wasn’t
shredded for the sake of our sins, but blood of Jesus in Calvary was shredded
for forgiveness of sins. Lord’s supper is not the new union forgiveness
of the sins, because that blood of the new union was shredded in Calvary. In
Calvary rests the forgiveness of the sins, which is donated to us through
repentance and by believing to Jesus Christ. Jesus spoke from his own blood,
trough whose we can get forgiveness of the sins. By way of blood of Jesus
goes also way to the new union. Blood of the union was shredded in the
Calvary and not in the Lord’s Supper, what wine describes. Bread describes
Christ body, which was broken on the Calvary for the sake of our sins. Blood
of the new union was shredded in Calvary. In Bible are not words the
sacrament of the altar and not teaching from the sacrament of the altar.
Sacrament concept of the altar is traditional rules of the men and it has
nothing to do with Bible teaching. This is my body
Roman catholic, an orthodox and Lutherans
church teaches from the Lord’s Supper as follows: from Bible are words:
“This is my body." These words can't interpret otherwise, as literally. I’m very sure that Jesus didn’t meant that
bread is His body and wine is His blood, but Jesus meant that bread describes
His body and wine describes His blood. Body of Jesus was broken on the
Calvary where from His flank leaked for the forgiveness of the sins. Jesus is
really present in every place, but He had never taken for Him the form of the
bread. Jesus had and is the form of the God,
but He made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men, not a likeness of a bread and
wine. Only form which Jesus has taken part is that God came to be a man
and not for the bread. Testimony of old covenant
When the nation of Israel was in the slavery
of Egypt, so God decided to release of His nations from the slavery of Egypt.
Before that liberation was set Easter meal, which mission was to remind the
nation of Israel, that God has released of his nation from the slavery of
Egypt. To Easter belongs also Easter meal, where was eaten slaughtered lamb,
which was example from the sacrifice of Jesus, where was adapted all the sins
of the mankind. John the Baptist knew this, because when he saw Jesus he said
in the Holy Spirit: " Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the
sin of the world.” The Easter of old union hasn't been the
event, where the nation of Israel was released from the slavery of Egyptians,
but Easter was spent for the remembrance of this event. Same it is also in
the new covenant. Lord’s Supper is spent for the remembrance of Jesus and His
death and resurrection, where is remembering and announced the death of The
Lord. Lord’s Supper is not the event which happened on the Calvary, but it is
event where remembering things which happened on the Calvary. In OT and NT is very same order on the
Lord’s meal. First Lord’s meal is set and after that in OT comes
liberation from the slavery of Egypt and in NT is also first the setting of
they Lord’s Supper and after that crucifixion of Jesus for forgiveness of the
sins. So in OT as in NT is Lord’s Supper for the remembering of liberation
work, where is remembering of this event. Delusions of some
churches
Above mentioned churches goes all there
astray, that they teach Lord’s Supper is the sacrament of forgiveness of the
sins, where can have forgiveness of sins by taking part of this sacrament. "Gift of the Eucharist, forgiveness of
the sins is given us in those words, which to us is
given in sacrament where is pronounced: "This has been given for your
sake ". When we believe these words and when we receive bread and
wine, we take spiritual meal, which renew our life and increase our love to
our neighbour", from Lutheran
church Finnish catechism. "In the sacrament of Christ body and
blood of the Christ which had sacrificed on the cross, he will donate to us
himself with this sacrament." from Lutheran church Finnish
catechism. When Jesus was setting His supper and spending
it with His disciples, there hadn’t yet taken place for redemption work of
Calvary, where is the forgiveness of the sins. When believers spend Lord’s
Supper, now in this moment, so the forgiveness of the sins has already
shredded in the Calvary and not in the Lord’s Supper. Eucharist is not
the sacrament of the forgiveness of the sins. Lord’s supper is remembrance
supper, where announced the death of The Lord. Those churches teach in the
point of fact that Christ in the sacrament of Eucharist donates to us. Bible
teaches that through of the Calvary’s filled work Jesus donate Himself to us
and brings salvation for them, which have made grace of God repentance and
have a faith in The Lord Jesus. Bible teach from the gift of righteousness
of Christ Jesus, which is donated through His death and on the basis of His
resurrection, when man comes for a repentance and to receive through faith
into his life to Lord Jesus. Those churches teach that salvation starts from
the baptism (infant baptism), where can have forgiveness of sins. Like this
churches then immerse babies and then in the Eucharist to them is given again
the forgiveness of the sins. Heathen religions were holy sacraments and
participation of those sacraments brings purification from sins. Those churches
have brought gentile sacrament concept of their own doctrine. Such order Bible doesn’t know. In Bible is
only one place for forgiveness of the sins, which is filled work of Calvary. Salvation
belongs for them, which have made grace of God repentance and have a faith in
The Lord Jesus. Witnesses of Jesus preach the gospel from the Jesus Christ,
so that people can get saved the power of the sin and Satan. By
believing to Jesus man gets forgiveness of the sins. Petri Paavola. All quotes of this translating are from the literature of Finnish languageRed writing in this writing is my
