3. The High priest Caiaphas
Caiaphas saw with his own
eyes Jesus Christ and he did not understand that the exemplary sin offering,
which he once a year offered for the sake of the nation, to bring forgiveness
of the sins, stood now before him, so that the nation of Israel would now
have a perfect and eternal offering for sin and salvation. Caiaphas saw God’s
real offering the Lamb of God, but he did not understood. He certainly feared
for his own position, and not could believe that Jesus was the promised
Messiah, who would bring the people of Israel forgiveness of their sins.
Human fear is a trap to people and because of it there are many people who
can’t receive salvation. Even today fear closes the door of people’s hearts
to Jesus Christ. You, who are the disciples of the Lord Jesus, show God love
through you to them, who for the sake of human fear reject Jesus Christ.
Perfect love cast out fear from the heart of people. Romans 5:5 says: The
love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given
unto us.
Let Gods
love come through you to the people of this world.
