2. The Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees of todayToday also the religious
leadership have distorted the Word of God. Nowadays the Pharisees, Sadducees
and Scribes are highly qualified theologians, who have set theirs own
confession books alongside the Bible. In their confession books and with
their traditions they distort the Word of God. Today ungodly clergymen study
in the theological universities of this religious system, were they distort
the Word of God according to their tradition. In their theological faculty
they are fed so full of the traditional rules of the men, that they keep on
opposing the real Gospel of Jesus Christ, and they concentrate on improving
the world by human wisdom. There are three groups of
Pharisees today. Firstly, Pharisees, Scribes and Sadducees, are in those
churches were the traditions of men have been raised up parallel to the Bible.
These Pharisees are very zealous from the traditions of theirs fathers and
try very carefully to obey those instructions in their own life. They are
faithful members on their own party. They treat them as strange who
don't obey the traditions of their fathers, but live from the faith of Jesus
Christ. They are zealous on behalf of these fathers traditions, and defend
them until their last breathe. Secondly there are
Pharisees who have succeeded in dividing from this party, but have then
established their own parties, were they obey their own religious leaders
traditions and rules. They are also fanatic defenders of their traditional
rules and consider them strange who don't believe to Jesus Christ - in
accordance with their traditions. Thirdly is yet another
party, they have departed from these two parties. They are outside the
traditions of men, but they are also in danger of creating their own
traditions, and unfortunately they are also Pharisaic. What l mean, is that
all these Pharisees, which are similar to what the Bible says. In the other
words people who obey in their life traditional religious human rules, whose
intention is to distort the real teaching of the Word of God. Note! In all
the above-mentioned parties there are those who love Jesus Christ and want to
believe what is written in the Bible. Now all who believe in Jesus Christ
would come out from the division of the denominations and start to gather in
one body of Christ (one congregation) according to the prayer of Jesus Christ
in John 17. Ecumenical work is not the same as what Jesus Christ prayed in
John 17. Ecumenicalism teaches that all religions are a way to the same God,
but this is heresy, because there is only one God, who has revealed Himself
in the Bible. So Disciples of Christ must keep away from the ecumenicalism.
